Our Story

Tide & Till began forging their roots in Charleston, SC. But like the wind that moves the tides, so the seeds were blown.

As the wife and family of Nick, our newly retired airman, the military saw our little pack of people to some unbelievable places and fostered a passion for travel. We adore being able to call the gorgeous Gulf Coast our forever home.  But, we are wanderers, hodophiles if you will. We are lovers of historic artifact, new places, and tiny map dot towns along the way. These loves are reflected in the names and blends of our products which reminds us of memories made and the journeys we have taken every time our proprietary blends tickle our senses. We are ecstatic to share that with you.

Hi, I’m Jess, homeschooling mother of four little pirates, caretaker to a menagerie of pets because we will give anything a home, creator of Tide & Till products, and curator of a beautiful coastal collection of accessories, apparel, and home decor. I was born in the Panhandle of Florida and spent the later part of my childhood in the Georgia farm fields, raised between the Tide and Till.

As someone who lives with endocrine related autoimmune disorders, I am passionate about clean products and that’s how my company was born. Seven years ago, in my quest to have scented pretties in my home, I fervently scoured, reading product data sheet after data sheet to find oils free of carcinogens, endocrine disrupting chemicals, and mutagens, a wax medium free of animal and petroleum by-product, Castile base for a hand soap, and a room spray base with minimal ingredients. So, I did and after many months of perfecting our processes, Tide & Till delivered our gorgeous collection of products packaged in an aesthetically pleasing way to accent any homes’ style and decor. As well, I carefully and thoughtfully designed packaging to have minimal to no environmental impact that can be recycled or repurposed.

When I’m not creating new proprietary blends, crafting our products in small batches, or gold gilding oyster shells (a totally cathartic exercise of creativity for me), I am fulfilling another passion, children’s literacy and life-long learning. As a published children’s book author I can be found putting pen to paper or editing.

Another favorite pastime is beach combing or treasure hunting as we call it. Two continents, many island countries, and miles and miles of the coastal United States I have walked with my curious children in search of treasures delivered to the shores by Mother Nature. We love to sneak in the occasional world schooling adventure too! I have affectionately been dubbed the charcuterie queen by my circle of gal pals.

Other fun facts about me:

• I’m ambidextrous and can write the letters of the alphabet backwards with both hands at the same time.
• I taught English as a second language in South Korea.
• I taught myself to play piano. I’m no Beethoven, but I can read music and play.
