Ile aux Vaisseaux~ Notes of Lemon, Cardamom, Cedarwood, and Saffron
Ship Island, located off the coast of Mississippi in the Gulf of Mexico, has played a significant role in maritime and military history. Discovered by French explorers in 1699, it was originally named Île aux Vaisseaux (“Island of Ships”) for its deep-water anchorage. Over the centuries, it was controlled by the French, British, Spanish, and eventually the United States.
